Authentic Thai food in Bangkok
As there are so many places to eat here it is sometimes hard to find a good local restaurant. Especially one that serves authentic traditional Thai food in Bangkok.
People often ask me what I like most about Thailand and besides the weather and the friendly people, it is the food for sure. It is delicious, but be careful with the chilies if you can’t handle them very well. However, it does give that extra flavour to it.
So where can you find a restaurant that cooks like grandma does (but in this case your Thai grandma, “yâa”). Well, I have a really special one to show you.

Baan Nual
Thai restaurant
With a little help from friends, we got a lunch reservation at Baan Nual. A small family-owned Thai restaurant. And by small I mean 3 tables. So make sure you book ahead (like months ahead). With the setting they created, it feels like you have been invited to their home, which makes it extra special. A unique place to eat Thai food in Bangkok. As the name also implies, because Baan Nual means “House perfect taste”.
It feels like you have been invited to their home.

Beautiful setup
Ordering by pictures
Because the restaurant is family owned, they would like to know your order before you arrive. You can order the delicious dishes from pictures on their Instagram page. That way they can go to the market in the morning and make sure everything is freshly available and ready when you arrive.
They don’t serve alcohol. But if you would like to drink some, there is a mom and pop shop next door. We brought our own wine and they were so sweet to already setup the wine glasses. Amazing service.

In love with these plates!
Ready to get hungry?
As everything looks delicious and probably also unfamiliar I tried it out for you. With help from our Thai friends, we ordered some yummy and traditional Thai dishes. As that is what we came for, authentic delicious Thai food in Bangkok.
Everything will be brought to the table at once and you just share the dishes with your friends. But that is also the most fun right? Aroi Mak!
Do you want to visit Baan Nual?
I would also like to add here that this review is in no way sponsored. I just thought it was too good not to share with you.
If you would like to go to Baan Nual too you can give them a call or send a message via Instagram. You can’t go without a reservation and they have different shifts. So better be quick, you don’t want to miss out!
